Ironclad partnered with PCL Construction to deliver a major infrastructure project on one of the busiest transportation corridors in Calgary. The work spanned 3 seasons and required multiple crews to construct two new interchanges.

Scope of Work

  • Over 500,0000 m3 of bulk earthworks with highway trucks.
  • Asphalt roadway removal and disposal. 
  • Waste and contaminated material excavation off-site.
  • Subgrade preparation and final grading. 
  • Storm pond excavation with liners.
  • Detailed excavation and backfill for structures.

Resources & Challenges

  • Total Crew: 30 Persons
  • Equipment Used:
    8 Excavators, 10 Rock Trucks, 4 Scrapers, 4 Dozers, 4 Compactors, 
40 Highway Trucks.
  • Challenges:
    Management of mass earthworks program including import from off-site with over 40 highway trucks on busy transportation corridors over three-year period.
